Action Mesothelioma Day (AMD) is a national day the asbestos community comes together to raise awareness and recognise mesothelioma sufferers and those we have lost. AMD is on the first Friday in July each year to raise awareness of asbestos exposure and mesothelioma.

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that develops in the pleura or in the lining of the abdominal cavity. The only known cause of mesothelioma is exposure to asbestos. Mesothelioma can develop even in people who have had relatively little exposure to asbestos. The most common symptoms of mesothelioma includes a cough, Chest pain, Shortness of breath and Fatigue (extreme tiredness). We encourage anyone who has been exposed to asbestos and suffering these symptoms to please visit the GP.
